At utp, sustainability and social responsibility are central elements of our business model. As a leading provider of fully biological SBR small wastewater treatment systems, we specialize not only in innovative, high-quality, and energy-saving solutions but also in a strong CSR philosophy. Regional commitment and public good
At utp, we place great importance on regional involvement and supporting the common good. We are actively engaged in promoting local clubs and youth work. Through financial support and project partnerships, utp helps young people in the region access diverse opportunities for personal and professional development. We offer student internships and holiday work placements and have been the main sponsor of the utp Youth Cup, the region’s largest youth football tournament, for years. We also regularly equip local sports clubs and the Seybothenreuth volunteer fire department with new uniforms and gear.
Sustainability and environmental protection
Sustainable wastewater treatment technology
As experts in wastewater treatment, we are committed to sustainable solutions. Our systems are fully biological and among the most energy-efficient in the industry. By using cutting-edge technologies and focusing on energy efficiency, utp actively contributes to reducing the environmental footprint. All aspects of our technology—from electricity consumption to maintenance costs, sludge disposal, and service intervals—are designed with sustainability in mind.
Reducing packaging waste
We actively reduce packaging waste by reusing intact cardboard boxes and padding materials for shipping items from our klärshop. Even our treatment systems are delivered in reusable rolling containers instead of single-use packaging.
Self-sufficient company site
Our premises in Seybothenreuth are fully self-sufficient and generate their own electricity. In 2023, we installed an EV charging station powered by our photovoltaic system to charge company vehicles in an environmentally friendly and future-focused way.
We also operate our own water and wastewater treatment facility on-site, which produces drinking-quality water. Additionally, we help preserve biodiversity by maintaining a natural pond and wildflower meadow.
Through these efforts, we take responsibility for the environment and set an example for sustainable practices.

For our commitment and implementation of certified, voluntary environmental protection measures, we have repeatedly received the Environmental + Climate Pact of Bavaria certificate.
Innovation for a sustainable future
As an innovative company, utp continuously develops new products and solutions to meet growing demands for environmental protection and sustainability. For example, we offer small wastewater treatment systems with remote monitoring and barrier-free access, tailored to meet the needs of customers as they age while delivering energy-efficient performance.
We’ve also taken action to address the declining soil quality in our fields, meadows, and gardens. To help improve soil health, we introduced a compost tea brewer, allowing users to create their own organic liquid fertilizer. This eliminates the need for costly imported fertilizers. Compost tea acts like a catalyst, enriching soil with beneficial microorganisms, enhancing soil quality, and supporting faster, healthier plant growth.
In addition, as a member of Umweltcluster Bayern, we collaborate with various research institutions to develop new environmental technologies.
Through these innovative approaches, utp actively contributes to resource conservation and reduced environmental impact.
